CHASEBURG, Wis. (WKBT) – You have the opportunity to help those touched by cancer this weekend.
Chaseburg’s 16th Annual Sole Burner Event takes place this Saturday at Chaseburg Village Park starting at 11 a.m.
People come together to help honor those touched by cancer, talk about reducing cancer risk, and raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
Over 300 people have already registered for this year’s event, and everyone is welcome to join.
Over the years, executives say the Sole Burner has raised around $ 1.25 million for the American Cancer Society.
“There is hope that cancer will one day be a treatable disease,” Sole Burner co-chair Linda DeGarmo said. âIt won’t be a death sentence. We’ve come this far with everything researched.
Chaseburg hosted a scaled-down Sole Burner event last year, but still raised $ 88,000, DeGarmo said.
